Using tools like Dropbox or Evernote to communicate or as a repository for information, is also helpful. You may also want to get ongoing reports from your Virtual Assistant that provide details on activities.

As with every relationship, it may take time to get in sync with each other. Be polite and gracious during the process, as you would in every business dealing.
