Frequently Asked Questions for Auctane users

Auctane Shipping Manager is a shipping solution for eBay sellers that is intuitive and easy to use. ShipStation is the next evolution of Auctane, providing more features for multi-channel online retailers. The following is a list of frequently asked questions that we have received from Auctane users.

Why did you build another app?

Auctane Shipping Manager was built specifically for the eBay 3rd Party App Center. While this worked well for eBay-only sellers, we realized the need for a more neutral multi-channel solution with even more productivity features. That’s when we decided to build ShipStation! ShipStation is a more feature-rich application than Auctane. Although more comprehensive, we believe that the increased functionality and productivity that ShipStation provides will be a welcomed change for many sellers.

What are the primary benefits of ShipStation over Auctane?

  • Support for 40+ eCommerce platforms including eBay, Amazon, Newegg, Shopify, and Etsy
  • Support for all 3 major carriers – USPS, UPS, and FedEx, and many more!
  • Free Stamps.com account with every subscription ($16 value!)
  • Faster label processing
  • Support for multiple users and warehouses
  • Order Management features such as order tagging and custom filters allow you to keep orders organized
  • Order Automation Rules allow you to automate shipping decisions and business processes

I am an eBay-only seller shipping a few packages a day. Is ShipStation for me?

If Auctane is meeting all of your order management needs, there may not be a need to step into a more comprehensive shipping solution. If, on the other hand, you are planning on becoming a multi-channel retailer, would like to add FedEx as a carrier option, or are adding employees and/or locations, ShipStation will scale better as your company grows.

Do I still need a separate Stamps.com account?

If you sign up with ShipStation, we’ll take over your Stamps.com subscription cost*, so you can keep your existing Stamps.com account.

How much does ShipStation cost?

Pricing starts at $25 per month. Unlike Auctane, there’s no additional fee for a Stamps.com account. If you would like to find out more about ShipStation’s full-featured plans, and which may be best suited for your growing business, please visit our Pricing Page for full details.

Is there a free trial?
