As a Marketing Events Intern, you will have the responsibility of assisting the events team in managing and executing events through various activities surrounding trade shows, conferences, local meetups, and ad-hoc events. This internship will be paid. 

Responsibilities:

  • Event Concepts: You will work with the event team to brainstorm and come up with new and exciting event ideas and how to implement them. You will have the opportunity to assist in all steps of event planning including event promotion, venue choice, run of show and post-event follow up.
  • Planning: Assist in the planning of all types of events. Planning responsibilities include vetting out potential venues & vendors. Building out sponsorship levels for partners and different ways to involve them in the event. Also includes day of attendance (in town), and day of errands.
  • Local Events:  Our mission is to help ShipStation achieve an active, positive presence in the local Austin community.  You will assist in the planning of local Austin based events including our monthly user meetups and SXSW lounge experience.
  • Pre-Event Logistics. You will help keep track of various pre-event logistics such as securing flights and hotels and executing necessary pre-event tasks and details. In order to do this well, you must be very detail-oriented and able to coordinate efforts between internal and external vendors.
  • Post-Event.  You will be responsible for compiling leads captured during events and adding them to a shareable drive for sales team follow-up.  You will assist in brainstorming ways to engage with leads post event.
  • Marketing Events. You will assist with planning creative ways that ShipStation can stand-out during events. This may involve social media marketing during the event, contests to incite booth traffic, etc. This is the fun part! The best candidate for the job will have ideas on marketing pre, during, and post events to ensure we have overall success.
  • Swag, Flyers, Handouts. You will be on a mission to find ShipStation swag and flyers that we can hand out during events. You will coordinate deliverables with vendors to be sure that the swag item is the right quality and quantity.
  • Ad hoc duties/responsibilities as assigned.

You Must Have:

  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university with a 3.0 or better GPA (preferably in marketing, business, or related field)
  • Junior or Senior classification preferred

Responsibilities:

  • External and Internal Partner Listings. You are responsible for keeping ShipStation’s branding up to date on assigned external partner pages. You manage the landing pages for assigned partners on ShipStation’s website.
  • Assist with Partner Launches. You are responsible to support all marketing efforts involved in launching assigned new partners. You pay attention to timelines and can collaborate with multiple internal and external departments to ensure a smooth release.
  • Content Creation. You will help edit and create partner collateral, including but not limited to: blog posts, webinars, partner listings, and other pieces of marketing collateral.

Discuss ways to strengthen existing partnerships and champion all marketing initiatives. Work closely with rest of the marketing team to get support for your efforts as well as support their efforts.  
  • Testing / Optimization. Continually strive for better results. Test and optimize all efforts. Question status-quo. Learn from and apply learnings from other sources beyond our efforts and industry. Ensure we are making data-driven decisions.
  • Reporting and Analytics. Deep understanding of the numbers behind our efforts. Think of reporting and analytics as an integral part of the planning and implementation of all campaigns. Develop and maintain dashboard(s) to allow for easy sharing as well as actionable use. Understand the difference between interesting and actionable information.

Partner Account Manager

The Partner Account Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of fulfillment providers, managing contracts, Salesforce and quarterly account reviews with existing ShipStation fulfillment providers. He/she will uncover opportunities to grow existing account and label revenue with fulfillment providers with successful conversion of their parcel manifesting operations to ShipEngine for the fulfillment provider’s other shipments.  

 

Additionally, the Partner Account Manager will successfully vet, scope and onboard future fulfillment providers for program inclusion.  The Partner Account Manager will convert existing providers into a tiered program (platinum, gold, silver providers) based on revenue potential.  The Partner Account Manager will monitor fulfillment providers for program compliance and escalate issues to the Director of Partnerships/Alliances.  

 

Additional responsibilities will include managing the implementation and reporting of other partners as managed by the Director of Partnerships/Alliances, such as marketplaces and cross-border providers.  The Partner Account Manager (PAM) will represent ShipStation at trade shows, user meet ups, Webinars and other events, as well as with face-to-face meetings with partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Outbound and inbound calls to promote ShipStation’s benefits, technology, and services
  • Rapid response to client inquiries and requests
  • Same-day response times to client inquiries
  • Advocating internally for clients
  • As assigned, being an evangelist for ShipStation at events, trade shows, etc

You must have:

Superb communication skills: You understand that effective communication is about more than what you say, it’s about taking the time to listen and understand. You can make complicated concepts sound easy or describe in detail the simplest of interactions.

A deep understanding of software and the web: You won’t need to know how to code, but terms like PHP, SQL, and JavaScript shouldn’t be foreign to you. You can quickly learn complex procedures, troubleshoot potential bugs on the fly (pun intended), and visualize customers’ screens from their description alone.

An empathetic desire to help: For you, a new inquiry isn’t just a case to close, but an opportunity to understand someone’s story and make their life better. Our purpose as a company is to help online businesses to thrive.

Prior customer facing experience: Whether it was working the cash register at Starbucks or working as an Apple Genius, you should have experience working with customers.
