Total Shipping Protection powered by XCover

Total Shipping Protection powered by XCover is a shipment insurance option available to all Canada-, Australia- and UK-based ShipStation accounts. To enable Total Shipping Protection, all you need to do is activate ShipStation Carriers. Once you have done so you can start adding coverage to your shipments immediately!

Benefit from discounted insurance through XCover without the need for an account. ShipStation users who have set up ShipStation Carriers will automatically see Total Shipping Protection.

With this partnership, ShipStation users are able to easily protect their packages for less with a quick and easy claims process.

How does it work?

XCover’s Total Shipping Protection includes protection for lost, stolen or damaged parcels.

The coverage amount is equal to your order value (in other words, sale price) and starts when parcels leave the originating address. The rate to protect a parcel is 1.10% of the coverage amount for domestic shipments and 1.50% for internationally shipments.

The protection can be canceled anytime before the parcel leaves the originating address. Coverage begins when the shipment leaves the originating address and ends when the recipient receives the shipment.

You’re covered if…

Your parcels are lost, stolen or damaged during transit.

If parcels are lost, stolen, or damaged, XCover will also pay costs towards:

  • Return shipping. These are the fees paid to carriers to have damaged parcels returned to you.
  • Re-shipping of replacement parcels. These costs are paid when the new delivery is arranged through ShipStation.
  • These shipping costs are paid in addition to your coverage amount and exclude duties and taxes. There is no “excess” or “deductible” to pay.

Easy claims process

Simply follow the link from within ShipStation to file a claim for a particular shipment insured with Total Shipping Protection powered by XCover. Once you click the link, follow the onscreen instructions in the XCover online portal. You can track the status of your claim within this online portal. The XCover claims team aims to complete 95% of claims within 3 days of claim lodgement.
