As businesses grow there comes a point where internal systems and solutions become costly and disconnected. Overview

Startups and young businesses usually don’t plan the growth of their information technology systems. Instead, over time they acquire a collection of individual apps to manage individual processes. This is advantageous at the beginning because it allows the founder/s to integrate the separate processes in their head/s, which drives agility and growth.

But eventually, these separate processes can become a costly liability. Their disconnectedness prevents the leadership of the business from having an insightful and accurate view of the whole business. The disconnection also limits how effectively a business can scale and threatens customer satisfaction.
