Partnership To Focus on B2B Selling Opportunities for U.S.-Based Sellers

U.S.-based small businesses can take advantage of Alibaba.com’s recently added key features that enable U.S. companies to do business locally (U.S.-to-U.S.) and globally. For sellers, enhancements include the streamlined ability to build and manage a digital store on the Alibaba.com platform, valuable transaction capabilities, including payment and order protections, and the option to work with Alibaba.com’s U.S.-based Seller Success team.

ShipStation and Alibaba.com will collaborate on providing mutual resources to help sellers take advantage of new wholesale selling opportunities and efficient shipping with the long-term goal of creating the next generation of trade experiences. Cross promotional marketing, match-making services and audience development of the two companies’ brands and networks will be a key aspect in working together.

John Caplan, Head of North America B2B at Alibaba Group: “We are thrilled to partner with ShipStation to offer retailers and ecommerce sellers in the United States a digitized B2B trading experience. Merchants will be able to tap into the abundant and combined expertise of the two industry pioneers for more worldwide trading opportunities.”

“We are excited to collaborate with Alibaba.com to provide efficient shipping options for B2B customers and new selling opportunities for our users,” said John Kinny, General Manager of ShipStation. “We are committed to helping our users scale up their businesses through cross-border and wholesale trading and partnering with the leading global marketplace will help us achieve that goal.”

The collaboration will officially kick off in July 2019 with ShipStation joining Alibaba.com in three Build Up launch events in New York (July 23), Los Angeles (July 25), and Chicago (July 30). Each Build Up event will provide attendees with a workshop, the opportunity for one-on-one training and consultation from Alibaba.com experts as well as exclusive discounts, incentives, and support from ShipStation and other partners.

Additional Build Ups around the country will be added throughout the year with support from local and national business organizations, including in ShipStation’s hometown of Austin, Texas in October 2019.
