Introducing Robert, our VP of Marketing!
Hello, I’m Robert Gilbreath and, as you may have heard, I just joined ShipStation as VP of Marketing. I’m really excited about being part of the this team for many reasons:
1. I grew up with parents who ran a small business. I saw them struggle from time to time with how to best take advantage of new technologies. ShipStation helps online retailers big and small streamline their order fulfillment processes, so I’m happy to be part of a team that helps its’ users be successful.
2. I was an early adopter of eBay and online retailing. I have been personally involved in, not only the attempted growth of my own online retail endeavors, but also the growth of several Internet Retailer Top 500 sized online retailers. ShipStation is a tool I wish was around back when I was first starting out, but also one that the IR 500 sized retailers could benefit from. Joining the team seems like I’m completing the circle from small to enterprise to service provider and I’m happy to be part of the team providing such a useful tool to online retailers.
3. I worked with a couple of the team members before. My first truly professional effort in the ecommere space involved one of the founders of ShipStation, Byron Wier. We were both relatively fresh to the space at that time so we share the experience of doing something extremely new together. I also worked with ShipStation’s CEO Nathan Jones when I first started in the online marketing space. Much like ShipStation as a trusted tool, it was important to have trusted people on my team.
On a slightly more personal level, I love Austin and have called it home for over 15 years. I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife and children. Our favorite thing to do it hit the hit and bike trail near downtown.
